A view of the outdoor dining area at Culinary Dropout at the Yard. Phoenix, Arizona.
This is a 4,000 Square-Foot restaurant with a large covered outdoor dining area, and adjacent recreational space (shuffle-puck, tether ball, bag toss, ping-pong) designed for WDP Partners and Fox Restaurant Concepts.
A reclaimed barn-wood fence surrounds the outdoor spaces, underneath a huge steel canopy that was a part of the original 1950’s former motorcycle dealership.
The Main Monument sign (again, part of the original building complex) was re-used as the primary identification for the project. Barn wood to match the fence surrounding the project’s outdoor spaces and a steel motorcycle logo carry ‘The Yard’ and ‘NCP’ (North Central Phoenix) in white neon. Brilliantly designed by Tom Martin of TMPDC
Incredible original wood ceilings were restored throughout the building. The existing concrete floors were exposed, ground down, and sealed exposing the six decades of history – from new car showroom to motorcycle dealer, to restaurant. The open kitchen’s ‘expo’ line seen here.
Incredible hand-painted motorcycle sign (by Kurt) on the original brick wall inside the north end of the Culinary Dropout Space.
